Total Mixed Rations (TMR): A Great Helper for Improving Farm Efficiency

Total mixed rations (TMRs) thoroughly blend roughage, concentrate, minerals, and vitamins to create a nutritionally balanced diet specifically for ruminants such as dairy cows, beef cattle, and sheep. Our TMR feeding technique is significantly superior to traditional separate feeding. Through precise combination and uniform mixing, every bite of livestock receives a nutritionally complete diet. Large-scale farms now rely on this method to boost profitability.

Advantages

1. Nutritionally balanced, every bite is perfect.

Previously, livestock were picky about their feed, resulting in uneven nutrient intake. TMRs are a different story. All feeds are thoroughly mixed, eliminating the problem of livestock grabbing concentrate first and leaving roughage behind. Each bite provides a consistent balance of energy, protein, and fiber. Especially for dairy cows, TMR can prevent rumen acidosis caused by overeating concentrates, maintaining a healthy rumen pH of 6.0-6.8. This was a key consideration during our equipment development.

2. Healthy growth and high productivity

This is no exaggeration. Feeding dairy cows with TMR can increase milk production by 3%-8%, with milk fat and protein percentages each increasing by 0.1-0.3 percentage points. For beef cattle, daily weight gain can increase by 10%-15%, and feed conversion rate can be improved by 8%-12%. This is all due to balanced nutrition, improved metabolism, and less effort required to consume feed.

3. Reduced management costs and increased efficiency

Our TMR mixers can mix feed in batches, saving considerable time on manual feed separation. Furthermore, even less palatable feeds like straw and distiller's grains, when mixed with TMR, are less picky about the animals, increasing utilization by over 20% and saving on feed costs. Large-scale farms using our equipment can manage the feeding of thousands of animals, ensuring smooth management.
