The tractor windrower is an agricultural implement used to cut hay or small grain crops and arrange them into strips. It is pulled by a tractor and driven by a power take-off. The windrower uses a reciprocating sickle bar or rotating disc to cut the crop stalks.
A reel helps the cut crop fall neatly onto a canvas or auger, which aligns the crop stalks and secures them to the ground along with the stubble before forming a windrow.
